About the workshop
This will be a hands-on and interactive workshop that will offer you
abundant opportunities to ‘make meaning’ of the information through
small group discussions and Q and A sessions. You’ll have lots of time
to network, too!
Gord James CA will tell us how organizations can manage their finances to protect themselves in a difficult economic climate. He’ll review the relevant tools, techniques and policies required to ensure financial tracking and controls, income projection, and financial stability; and review what boards need to know to make timely decisions.
Pat Letizia, Executive Director of the Alberta Ecotrust Foundation, will illustrate how tough times offer an opportunity to groups to revisit their core business and fund development approaches. You’ll have a chance to consider your strategic focus and the alignment of your organization within the community, and explore funder fit and the ‘ten commandments’ of grantwriting as you move from Ideas to Impact.
Gareth Thomson, Executive Director of ACEE, will offer supplementary information and resources to support our workshop theme, and provide an update on key initiatives and upcoming opportunities for the environmental education community.
