Art Garfunkel and the Green Planet Concert Series.
The
Pembina Institute is proud to be presenting the legendary Art Garfunkel
in a unique two-city concert tour (Edmonton and Calgary) entitled the
Green Planet Concert Series. This event is designed to raise funds and
raise awareness for the vital work done by The Pembina Institute
organization. It is also a fundraiser for the Jepp quadruplets.

PRAIRIE CITIZENS WATER DIRECTIVE: A 10 CITY TOUR TO DISCUSS THE SUSTAINABLE MANAGEMENT OF WATER IN THE PRAIRIE PROVINCES
From
the Rocky Mountains to Lake Winnipeg an expansive river network
connects the Prairie Provinces. Increasingly, there are competing
demands being placed on limited water resources across the region. This
fall, citizens from across the region will join together in a
collective call for action! What are your expectations? What are your
priorities? Come out and share as we embark in a regional dialogue
that will connect the people of a region with a united message. The
forums will feature a proposal for a citizens directive on water
management. Participants in each of the forums will have the
opportunity to discuss in depth the expectations, and will also
consider strategies and actions to help bring about the necessary
changes.

2007 ESSAY CONTEST FOR UNIVERSITY STUDENTS
Who
should have the greatest responsibility for reducing Canada’s
greenhouse gas emissions: governments, industries or individuals?
The
2007 Canada West Foundation Essay Contest is open to students attending
a post-secondary institution in BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, or Manitoba
as of December 1, 2007.
· The essay must be between 750 and 1,000 words in length.
$5,000 cash prize for the winning essay
·
The essay must be submitted to the Canada West Foundation via email no
later than December 1, 2007. The essay must be sent as a standard
Microsoft Word file.
· The essay must have a title.
·
The author’s first and last name, mailing address, phone number,
post-secondary institution and field of study must appear at the
beginning of the essay.
· The best essays will be published in the Canada West Foundation’s Dialogues Magazine.
· The winning essay and runners-up will be chosen by a panel of judges.
