About the 2008 Leadership Clinic
Alberta's first leadership clinic was a success! ACEE and the leadership clinic planning committee hosted a transformative event that was lauded by participants, resource people and presenters as a very valuable opportunity for professional development, capacity-building, and program development.

What the teams accomplished: 

1. Campus Calgary/Open Minds optimized their program so that teachers and students will more consistently ‘get to action’ in their classrooms.
2. Banff National Parkapplied social marketing principles to create a science-based outreach plan for the Cave and Basin National Historic Site.
3. GreenLearning Canada used logic models and a collaborative relationship with Campus Calgary/Open Minds to create a plan that will more deeply engage teachers in valuing, supporting, and implementing Greenlearning.
4. The City of Calgary environmental education team developed a collaboration framework that will guide, enhance, and nurture the partnerships that are essential to their work.
5. Calgary Board of Education EcoTeam developed Action Plans and projects that not only will save a million dollars in the 2008/9 school year (through a 10% reduction in the CBE electricity bill), but will also help teachers and students learn about and practice energy conservation.
6. Team WPAC (Watershed Planning and Advisory Council) will increase stewardship in four Alberta watersheds though a logic model and plan to engage First Nations, stewardship groups, and government.
7. The Recycling Council of Alberta will engage organizations and individuals, and generate much more participation in Waste Reduction Week (October 18 -24, 2009) through their new logic model and evaluation scheme.
8. First Nations (Alberta) Technical Services Advisory Group generated a detailed plan to create and nurture ‘community stewardship champions’ in First Nations communities throughout Alberta.
