We work very hard to ensure that environmental educators get better at helping learners practice environmental stewardship – in fact, this is one of ACEE’s three desired impacts as outlined by the ACEE Board!
ACEE has several programs that support the professional development of environmental educators in Alberta.
ConocoPhillips Canada Professional Development in Environmental Education program focuses on two audiences:
- Teachers - We work intensively with the Professional Development Network of the Alberta Teachers
Association to connect teachers to professional learning opportunities, so they can become even better at delivering environmental education in their classrooms.
- Agency Professionals - For the past two years, ACEE has offered a series of workshops and webinars to support agency professionals in Alberta, you can access the rich list of resources from all these sessions. For 2012-2013, we are focusing on our Communities of Practice program and have no specific workshops or webinars planned. Many other organizations offer professional development relevant to environmental educators, here is a list of some of the opportunities avaialable.
Other professional development provided by ACEE:
Cenovus Energy Environmental Education Leadership Clinic is a unique, fully funded, four day team clinic where groups come with a goal and leave an action plan to implement their goal.
- Presentations by ACEE are sessions presented by ACEE staff and are available to be booked for any interested organization.
