ACEE is very grateful for the contributions of the following volunteers who donate their time – and considerable expertise – to plan the Clinic, and select the groups they feel should be accepted to attend the Clinic from the pool of applicants.

Nan Buckardt is widely considered to be the queen of the leadership clinic! Whether as a participant, organizer, or facilitator, Nan has organized, facilitated, and participated in no less than 10 leadership clinics throughout North America and two in Taiwan. In her day job, Nan is an Environmental Education Manager for a local government open-space agency in Illinois, and she is also very active participating in a number of leadership activities in that state. Nan will facilitate the 2010 ACEE leadership clinic |

Jacquie Gilson, was the Executive Director/ General Manager for the Cross Conservation Area for 18 years. After 18 wonderful years dealing with everything related to managing a protected area she decided it was time to move on to new challenges and refocus her career on interpretation. She recently started a position as the Interpretation Coordinator for Parks Canada for the Lake Louise, Yoho and Kootenay Field Unit in the mountain parks and is looking forward to tackling it with her usual gusto. She is currently working on a doctorate through Royal Roads University. |

Nancy Pollard is a grade 7 teacher at Lawrence Grassi Middle School of the Canadian Rockies Public School Division in Canmore. Outdoor and environmental education has been one of her passions over the past 12 years of teaching, and she has implemented and taught many eco-programs and projects to schools in both Australia and Canada. Nancy spends her free time coaching Jackrabbits cross country skiing and coaching mountain biking, going to parent council meetings and working with her husband Guy to get their three children to all the various practices and lessons around town. Nancy is also a member of the ACEE Board. |

Kristine Schmaltz is a new elementary teacher with Rocky View Schools, and a recent graduate from the University of Calgary. Prior to earning her B.Ed, Kristine studied Psychology and obtained a BA from Queen’s University. Kristine is a former President of the University of Calgary’s Education Students’ Association, and is interested in enhancing environmental education training for pre-service teachers. Kristine plans to share her love of the outdoors with her future students, and incorporate the environment into her classroom and teaching. She enjoys cycling through Calgary’s parks, and camping in the mountains. Kristine is also a member of the ACEE Board. |
