- Hinterland isn’t just about nature videos anymore. The link above takes you to the area where many lesson plans are listed on various topics. “Monitor Marine Migrants” gives students the opportunity to study the actual migration routes of marine animals and look at possible problems/ human impacts along the route.
Oil Spill Clean-Up Experiment

- A simple way to simulate an oil spill in the classroom and experiment with real-life clean-up methods. Guiding questions for exploring the material further are also included on this page. This experiment comes from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) kids club. The general website for this area is www.epa.gov/kids . There are a number of great features on this website and it is worth exploring if you have a chance.
Canadian Forestry Association Teaching Kits

- The Canadian Forestry Association has teaching kits available for download. Lesson 6, Vol. 4, Water, Water Everywhere, allows students to experiment in detail with water filtration. Please note that many other lessons/kits are accessible from this link. This website is worth exploring!

- This website contains interactive simulations regarding all scientific topics. Glaciers allows students to see how global weather conditions influence a retreating glacier.
