Sierra Club of Canada, BC Chapter
The BC Chapter has long been committed to educating the next generation by connecting children with their environment. Started in 1998 in response to teacher requests for environmental education (EE) materials Sierra Club's Education Program has grown into one of B.C.’s most effective EE providers. We know that a sustainable future relies on teaching today’s youth about ecological processes and about our interactions with the environment. We want young people to take stewardship action towards environmental issues but we want such action to be grounded in sound knowledge. We provide in-class programs to more than 10,000 students a year. Our dynamic website contains a variety of on-line and downloadable learning resources. We also make available curriculum guidebooks, Professional Development workshops, and monthly e-newsletters designed to connect B.C.’s teachers to EE learning resources and opportunities that are of high standards and are appropriate for in-class use.
Non-Profit
