National historic sites tell a chapter of Canada's history and help us understand Canada as a whole. There are national historic sites in every province and territory in Canada. The Cave & Basin is the birhplace of Canada's national parks. It is also home to the Banff Springs snail, the most endangered species in Banff National Park. The Park Museum is Canada's oldest national park building and is considered a "Museum of a Museum".
