Bear Guardian Adventure Manual
This manual is chockful of fun activities related to the bears of Banff National Park.
Cave & Basin and Banff Park Museum National Historic Sites
Site tours can be tailored to grades and curriculum; more specific to social studies, but can include geology and some biology. At the Cave & Basin you can "Create a Postcard" where students learn about the site and its history and create a postcard to share with family and friends. At the Park Museum students can "Build an Exhibit" .
Forest Health Programs
Programs have been created through the Mountain Parks Mountain Pine Beetle Initiative. Print materials are available in English and French. Mountain Pine Beetle Mania brings the biology and issues surrounding the Mountain Pine Beetle into the classroom. It includes background information as well as activities. It is available from Parks Canada or Inside Education.
Park Ambassador Program
This is a volunteer opportunity for people who live in or near Banff National Park. Get outside, enjoy the mountains and share your passion for our first and foremost national park as a volunteer "hiking info centre". Training and hats and tshirts are provided. Committment is once per month for one year.
Mountain World Heritage Interpretive Theatre (Mountain WIT)
Parks Canada's very own professional theatre troupe performs a variety of interpretive shows with links to Alberta curriculum. Learning made fun! The memorable characters, songs, and stories will spark students' curiosity in the natural world.
