Up one level- Endangered Species Classroom Programs (gr 3-6)
- In this fun and educational program, your class will learn about the plight of Canada’s species at risk. CPAWS Educators will visit your classroom not once, but TWICE with games, slides, animal skulls and scat to make the subject come alive. Your class will have the chance to be part of CPAWS’ premier Action Challenge program to take positive action for nature. Our programs are integrated with your curriculum and will help students understand their role in conserving the natural world. With this program, teachers will receive a teaching kit that includes maps, posters and an illustrated activity guide to extend the experience in the classroom.
- Endangered Species Teaching Kits
- Arm yourself with some great activities, information and resources when you order the CPAWS Endangered Species teaching kit. The kit includes an illustrated teacher activity guide packed with valuable curriculum-linked activities and information about endangered species and related concepts. We also send you posters, brochures and tips for kids on how to help endangered species.
- Grizzly Bears Forever! Classroom Programs (gr 7 - 9)
- Grizzly Bears Forever! is a science-based program that helps Junior and Senior High School students understand the challenges that grizzly bears face in the Central Rockies ecosystem. Through the grizzly bear, topics such as ecosystems, biodiversity, population, genetics, human impact and species interactions are examined. CPAWS bear educators visit classrooms with a curriculum-linked bag of tricks that includes games, slides, trivia, skulls and scat. Classes have the chance to be part of CPAWS’ premier Action Challenge program to engage them in learning more about bears, science, and stewardship. Our programs are integrated with your curriculum and will help students understand their role in conserving the natural world. With this program, teachers will receive a teaching kit that includes an illustrated activity guide, brochures, and posters to extend the experience in the classroom.

- The great grizzly bear has long been viewed as an icon of the Canadian Wilderness – but how long can they keep that image? When you order a Grizzly Bears Forever teaching kit, you will receive an illustrated activity guide full of fun activities based on real data and information about grizzlies, posters and factsheets that will help bring the grizzly bear (and science class) alive.

- Guided Hikes (gr 3-12)
- Take your students outside to celebrate nature! Offer your students an exciting and inspirational break from the classroom with a full-day hike in the mountains or at a local park as we explore the flora and fauna of a spectacular ‘endangered space.’ Along the way, CPAWS Educators will engage your students in curriculum-linked activities to raise their awareness and appreciation for wilderness. Our programs are integrated with your curriculum and will help students understand their role in conserving the natural world.
- ECO-Partners: Education for Conservation and Outdoor Learning (gr.3-9)
- ECO-Partners : Education for Conservation and Outdoor Learning is a program designed for teachers and students who are interested in prolonged engagement and environmental stewardship. The program consists of a teacher-training workshop along with three in-class visits and a guided hike in Kananaskis Country or Fish Creek Provincial Park. It is designed to encourage teachers to put an environmental spin on their teaching and foster a sense of global citizenship among students. It is essentially a package of your favourite CPAWS programs, plus a whole lot more! As part of the ECO-Partners program, classes are encouraged to take part of CPAWS’ premier Action Challenge program to take positive action for nature. As with our other environmental programs, the ECO-Partners program is designed to be integrated with your curriculum and will help students understand their role in conserving the natural world. With the ECO-Partners program, teachers will receive a Leap into Action Guide, a teaching kit that includes an illustrated activity guide for their grade level, brochures, and posters to extend the experience in the classroom.
