Lord Beaverbrook High School
We help deliver on this Framework outcome:
Outcome 6-5: EE programs begin to use more youth-friendly approaches and media; more youth become engaged in the EE processWhat we are currently doing to deliver on the outcome:
- Working with grade 10 students in a facilities water conservation initiative, in partnership with 4 other high schools
- Working with students in CBE to reduce waste
- Starting a Destination Conservation program that complements Environmental Studies curriculum
In the future we plan to deliver on the outcome by:
- Create a youth steering committee and writing team
- Building relationships with students between schools
- Identifying common themes to achieve maximum effectiveness in communication
- Accomplish goals that are tangible for students
Measures of success:
- A youth steering committee is formed, meeting several times to build the foundation
- Tangible goals reached by students
- Students are excited, engaged and committed
